Letters From My Father: Berlin Lawyer to Bombay Refugee
A Conversation with Atina Grossmann, Professor of History at the Cooper Union in New York City
Professor Atina Grossmann will share her fascinating family story, a refugee journey from Europe to Iran and India. Drawing on an extensive collection of family correspondence and memorabilia from both Iran and India (1935-1947), as well as other sources, Grossmann probes the experience of European Jewish refugees in Iran and the Orient; their understanding of their own unstable position, the changing geopolitical situation, and their efforts to come to terms with emerging revelations about the destruction of European Jewry.
